Camping

Two weeks ago we went camping out in Flanagan Reserve (?) out west by Beaudesert.  It was very dry and very hot, but the trees were tall and the shade plenty. They had a nice creek that had a deep end for big kids and some rock pools for the little ones.  Michael and Blake hiked up Mt Nathan with some of Michael's work friends.  I think it ended up being 18k total.  I took care of the little ones at the camp ground.  It was nice that they had the creek to entertain us.  We also camped next to a group that had 4 children.  Sophie and Thomas had a blast.  And the best part was that they had an ice cream shop in the camp ground.

We came home Sat evening and Michael took the kids to Wet N Wild on Sunday.  Monday I went up to Brisbane to take my citizenship test, which I passed with flying colours.  The rest of the week was just settling into a new routine.  Both kids are out of day care now and I'm remembering why I wanted them to go.  Finding the time to get to the shops with both of them..... plus not having to leave before we check out because they are acting up..... it took nearly 8 days to get the shopping done.

Last weekend we just had a work day on Sat and then on Sunday the kids and Michael went to the farm after church while I stayed and did some more things around the house.  I find it's also a lot harder to keep the house clean with both of them home all week.  We are slowly getting some projects done, getting ready for our move.  Though the things we are doing now probably should have been done a long time ago and need to be done even if we weren't moving.  Our DVD to Computer file project is going well.  We will be half done by the end of the week.  Michael is scanning in all my recipe books at work a little each day so they will all be on file.

Then all we have left is our photos.  Michael thinks it's easiest and best quality to just take pictures of the pictures and then we can upload them to the computer easily.  Ah well, I suppose I'll let him do it that way.  We will always have the hard copies in storage and it will be heaps quicker than trying to scan each one by itself.

This weekend I have a Ladies Craft day at the church.  We are doing scrap booking so I can catch all mine up before I store them away.  Michael is going to go to the farm and the Murwillumbah Fair or something.  I'll try to get him to get some photos.  We did take photos of Halloween but those will be posted next time.  The weekend after next should be heaps of fun for me.  Kaye and David are taking the children so Michael and I can do a massive de-junk.  It's going to be awesome.  The house will be clean for weeks afterwards - or I can wish as least:)

As it gets warmer here in Sunny Queensland, we find new and creative ways to stay cool.  Like putting the sprinkler on the trampoline:)

Last Sat we stopped by the Family Fun Day at the local community centre.  We watched a puppet show and some local children's dancing and cheering squads.

Can you see the lizard in these photos?  Thomas was the one that found it.  Ain't he clever.  It was even up at my eye level so I'm not sure how he spotted it.

Scenery Photos from camping.

Our new luxury tent.  Two rooms which can fit 3 full size mattresses in each.  I also got a memory foam camping mattress from Michael.  I am so spoilt.

Thomas was so tired that he nearly took a nap in the trailer while we were packing up.
It was so dusty and dirty there.... Our kids nearly looked brown.

Left: Michael washing the kids in the dark so we could put their jammies on.
Right: The kids playing with their trains in the empty trailer.
