The last week of school flew by and before you knew it, we were at school holidays. I pretty much just play taxi so not too many photos this time. On Sat we were suppose to have a work day but we pretty much just hung out to recover from the week. On Sunday we had a nice BBQ at the farm with the neighbours. We left Blake there and Thomas and I had a few nice and quiet days with Sophie at daycare. We went to buy groceries - no photos, we went to the library - no photos, we walked Sophie to and from daycare - no photos, we sat on the veranda - no photos. Man, I was slacking off!.
On Wed we went back down to the farm. The kids had a nice play in the park while Blake and I did errands, then the rest of the afternoon we wiped mould off the walls in the bedroom we stay in down there. Again no photos. What was I thinking? This time we left Sophie there while I took the boys home. Sophie was so excited about her first sleepover, by herself, at Kaye's that she talked about it for the whole week prior.
Thursday Thomas was off to Daycare and I treated Blake to Movie World. We waited in line a total of 6 hours - again no photos, darn it. The six rides were awesome of course, but way too short. I can't take photos and ride on them so we didn't get any photos that day. We did make all the rides except the water one cause it was a bit cold and we didn't want to get wet. We also had a nice sit down buffet lunch and fit in a bit of shopping and arcade. He was a very happy boy that day. It was nice for him to get a chance to ride the big rides, usually we just stay in the kiddy zone.
Friday we had a slow morning but then we were off to the beach with Kaye and to pick up Sophie. We ended up playing mostly in the nearby park because it was so windy it was chilly when wet. Sat I sat in bed all day to recover. No pictures of this one either! Though I should have taken some at the park now that I think about it. Anyway, Michael wanted to go to the farm so he took the boys and left on Sat morning when I went to High Tea with Sophie and the CWA Ladies. Sophie found a friend and they had a blast. On Sunday Sophie helped me clean the entire house. It was a mess from the week we had. Took us from 9am to 7pm with resting only for meals. It was a nice deep clean though and it's still mostly clean today - 3 days later.
On Monday I had a Mary Kaye consultant come over and show me how to use make up again. It's been a few years with all the children making and raising happening. I felt I was ready to get back on the band wagon. It was a fun party with two of my friends and their daughters. I used my birthday money to get a few things and am anxiously awaiting their arrival. Oh Monday was also a holiday so the boys were still at the farm and Sophie got to stay home and help with the make up. Blake is making a cubby house out of an old water tank at the farm and likes to spend all day up in the bush working on it. I'll be sure to get photos.
Tuesday Sophie was back at daycare, Blake was off to the community centre for some fun activities and I met the ladies of my Bible Study at a park by the lake. Thomas slept on the way there so we had a good 3 hours of play. Today is just a relaxing day, good thing too. Tomorrow it's back off to Movie World again. I'm letting Blake bring a friend since we don't have Thomas so Sophie and I just have to find something to entertain us for the whole day. The Kiddy zone usually only occupies us for a few hours. We may just have to go shopping! Oh dear.
Friday we are off south again as Kaye's brother and sister are coming up for a visit. Hopefully this weekend we can just lay around and relax before school starts again next week.
In future news....we are starting to make plans to move back to the States. Nothing is set in stone yet of course, but we are shooting for next summer. We paid off our last loan, which was the first step, and my citizenship test is scheduled for the 22nd of Oct, which is the 2nd step. So only 4 more steps to get home. Keep us in prayer.
Here are all the photos I had on the camera for the last two weeks. I didn't even have to pick and choose this time, I can post them all. One highlight of the week was getting box from Grammy with clothes in it. Sophie decided she wanted to model for us.
She as a little embarrassed at first but then she got into it.
Look at her go.
Thomas was not to be outdone. He didn't even bother to wait till he had put his new clothes on. He just jumped right in.
He's also got this new fascination with this particular hat. It reads "here comes trouble" which is fitting. He even tries to wear it in the bath. Michael usually does the baths but sends the first one out to me so he can dry the next child. Imagine my surprise the first time I get a naked boy.....with a hat on!
Thomas also thought it would be fun to have me take pictures of his butt. It started because I asked him to turn to the other side and he thought I said turn around. After that it was all over. Laughs all around when I took the picture. And then Sophie didn't want to be outdone so here's her butt as well. It is now a known fact. If you want your butt to look smaller in photos, hold your camera in a portrait instead of landscape position and be standing up :)
Oh, hehehe. Dishes. Blake was gone to Kaye's for a few days and we had a massive bake off. We took a picture of all the dishes to make him miss us more (cause he usually does the dishes that night:)
