March has ended

Sorry I'm late again.  Maybe if I didn't tell people I was going to do it every other week, then they wouldn't really know when I was late?? :)  Anyway, I'm going to make up for it because I'm going to be doing a new pecan harvesting series since they've automated a few sections since 4 years ago. But more about that later.  It's been nearly a month so lets see if I can remember everything.

I think I told you I decided not to go for managership in Tupperware, but to just do it as a hobby.  It seems to be doing us well.  So there will be little to talk about from here on out, at least until next Nov and record breaker week.

Sophie is growing fast.  Though she's having a hard time settling at Daycare.  I thought to change her centre to the one her friend Mia goes to, to see if that would help.  But it doesn't seem to.  She cried when I left again, and though she told me a great many things she did that were fun, when asked if they would see her next week she said no.  And in the car she told me she liked the old one better.  Have we already started the adolescence "I'm not happy, I want the one I can't have", already?  She is doing better in swimming lessons though.  In fact this last time, I had to step in twice to make her stop playing and listen to the teacher. She kept putting her head under the water and didn't listen.  Which is a big change from never wanting to put her eyes in even when she had on goggles!

Thomas is growing up.  He doesn't mind Daycare.  He looked a little concerned when we left Sophie in the car and I told him she wasn't coming this time, but he got over it when he saw the toys.  He's starting to get a full vocabulary and is about to go in for his 2nd hair cut.  We did try to potty train him again this school holiday (we are going to try each holiday until he turns 3, or he gets it).  This time was better than last time.  Last time he just kept going small amounts all the time.  This time he only does a few large ones the whole day and he was keen to "practice" for the first two days.  We even had some successes, but then he started screaming every time we took him.  I don't know about you, but when my child is screaming and kicking when I'm carrying him to the toilet with poo coming out..... I think I'll just wait till he's a bit older.  He does look so cute in his undies though!

Blake is doing well.  He's all done with his stroke correction and got put up to squad level at this new place.  He's going to try it for a few weeks and then decide which place he likes best.  For those of you just tuning in, Blake was doing squad at this little local club that wasn't very competitive and only had a small group of kids.  Which is fine, but I wanted him to experience a different type of coaching, a competitive, larger team, with "real" workouts.  He can choose which one he likes come May.  We had parent/teacher interviews last week and they went surprisingly well.  They always start with how smart he is and go over all of his grades.  We've never had an issue with that part.  Usually at the end though there is a BUT, and then they tell us how he can't focus, or he interrupts the class, things like that. But this year I kept waiting for that BUT and there wasn't any! He's on school holidays now and enjoying it so far.  We celebrated his birthday this past weekend with his friends but I'll do a separate post on that.

Michael is doing some big projects at work.  Of course he never talks about them, just tells me he has to do a few extra hours and I have to let him know when is a good time to fit it all in.  He really enjoyed last weekend cause he got to do camping stuff (two weeks in a row!) and they tried out his new machine as they started harvesting last week.  There are some tweaks that he has to do this weekend but I'll get video for you.

As a family we went to a 'country' birthday party.  It was out in the paddock and the kids just loved it.  Some photos below.  We also made it out camping again with Peta and her family.  It was a very fine weekend in the mists of a lot of rainy days so it worked out well.  The river got clearer and lower each day we were there, it was fun.  There were still mud puddles around for the kids to get into trouble with, but the ground wasn't too soggy.

I'll leave you with a bunch of photos and videos from the whole month and you can look forward to Blake's birthday update as well as new harvest information.

Left: 4 wheeler used to fetch things from the house at the party
Right: Gotta love those hay bales, and those boots!

Left: Sophie baking cupcakes.  She's quite the baker.  Likes to do it by herself now.
Right: Thomas making a nest for a little toy chick.

Left: Sophie and her Chick and Egg, in this case, the chick and the egg came at the same time.
Right: Oh, did I tell you I joined the Country Women's Association?  It's awesome.  This was their baking contest.  I've already learned so much and they love raffles!
