After Christmas we spent boxing day (the day after Christmas for those in the USA), at Aunt Judy and Uncle Al's place down in Inverloch. We were joined by their children and grandchildren, along with Pa and Nanna. The weather was fine, though a bit chilly and windy, but the kids didn't mind. There was great food, great company, and great games. What else could we hope for? We stayed the next day at Inverloch with Judy and Al. Michael and Blake woke up early and went fishing with Al. They had a great time because they caught 22 fish! Mostly whiting but a few others. Judy and I had a nice relaxing day with the kids. Guess what we had for Tea (Dinner)?
The next morning (28th) we let Blake go out fishing again with Al and his son while we packed up, then went to the beach with the little ones. They loved it! It was very cold down there for swimming, but they didn't seem to mind. The tide was out so there were puddles just their size to swim and splash in. Blake's gang caught another 18 fish. We left at nap time to drive back to Bonnie Banks. Guess what we had for Tea that night as well?
The 29th Bec and I just held down the fort while Michael and Jon completed a fence on a really steep side of the mountain. It was rough work but very satisfying when completed. It was very hot during the days so in the afternoon we usually had water play with the kids. They have a creek that runs along their property that the kids just loved.
On Friday the 30th, we drove up to Melbourne to visit with Nan Peg. After a lovely morning tea with her, we went a little farther and met with Aunt Jill, Uncle David and Cousin Tim. We met at this lovely dining hall (hotel) that had an indoor play area for the kids and an arcade for Blake. It was much easier visiting with the kids occupied, though we did have to make sure Thomas didn't dare anything too big for him. Sophie was good at making friends, but got real sad when her friends had to leave.
No big news for the 31st or 1st. Just relaxed, had a family day, the boys played on the digger a little bit, we played some in the creek, ate a lot of food, etc. We did get to visit with Bec's parents again before we left. That was nice to fit in. All the improvements are going really well down there. It's hard to believe they have only been there for about a year. It's changed so much!
Our flight home was uneventful. Made it to the airport really early. Camped out in a mostly deserted area so the kids could play. Sophie did really well at the airport and on the plane, though she needs entertaining when she gets tired, which is very tiring for us! Thomas likes to run off and wiggles and doesn't ever want be still so it was quite a handful. Good thing it was only a 2 hour flight. Thankfully the next time we fly he should be into cartoons :).
We've had a few adventures since we've gotten home, including 4 high school graduates staying for a week, me deciding I wanted to become a manager, Sophie and Thomas going to day care one day a week, and rearranging our whole house. You'll have to stay tuned to hear all the details.
