On Friday, Dec 23rd, we took the kids on an exciting air plane trip. It was quite exciting for Sophie. We had a great view watching the planes land and park while we waited. Though we didn't have more than 20 minutes to wait after our very long lines at the ticket counters. Security wasn't too bad though and we let Thomas walk most of the way so it was good timing all around. He was so cute toting his little rolly backpack. Sophie did well on the plane, colouring , reading, watching out the window etc. Thomas didn't do too well. It was his nap time but he didn't want to go to sleep. Good thing it was only a 2 hour flight!
After we arrived in Melbourne we had a picnic lunch on the grass while Michael go the rental car, then off for the 2 hour drive to Traralgon. Both the kids had a nice sleep on the way there. We had a nice reception, Kaye and David already being there, and Jon and Bec made a nice dinner. We relaxed on Christmas Eve day letting the kids play. Michael and Jon moved some dirt and played with the digger. Jessie arrived so Michael's family was complete.
Christmas day the kids somehow new and woke up at 5am! After putting them off and trying to get them back to sleep, we finally got up and let them open their stockings. Then breakfast before opening presents. The kids had a blast playing. We were joined by Bec's family to have a wonderful midday feast. The day started rainy but cleared enough for all 9 children to go outside for a bit before they drove us crazy. We opened more presents and the kids actually took naps, though not all at the same time. After the festivities were over, we settled in for a quiet evening.
I'll put the rest of the holiday on the next post.!
