The Christmas festivities have begun.

Someone remind me to go back and do a post about our awesome camping trip after I run out of Christmas stuff to post!

Last weekend we went to the farm to start our Christmas activities. But first we had to have Thanksgiving on Sat.  It was a great feast with Kaye and David and the Taylor family.   The day started with a shopping trip to the grocery store with side trips to the market and the op shop :)  Then it was home to cook.  Thankfully I took the easy route and bought two roasted chickens so all I had to do was mash up some potatoes, heat up some rolls, throw together a bean casserole, and whip up an apple and walnut salad.  It took me less than an hour to prepare and then I waited till about 30 minutes before it needed to be served to cook everything.  I know, it was sort of lazy, but I've been very busy and Thanksgiving almost got missed entirely!

Sunday morning we opened our gifts from Kaye and David.  I got a few videos that I'll post above the photos.  The kids enjoyed playing with their gifts, but they like feeding the cows and chickens even more.  Kaye took them outside to wear them out and I did some house work.  Then they were off for their sleep and Kaye and I got to have a long chat with Bec to play our Christmas in Victoria.  The evening started at the Taylor's house where we opened our secret Santa gifts which had to be home made.  The gifts turned out great.  Sophie got a painted butterfly from Montana and had to rush straight home and hang it up high so Thomas couldn't get it.  Thomas got play dough from Blake and cried when we put it away.  The rest of us got yummy treats and I got a beautiful bookmark to go with mine.

Then it was off to the festival.  They had food, animals, balloons, clowns, etc.  Thomas and I went on his first horse ride, on Peanut, but we didn't have a camera! (I know mom, I know).  Then we checked out the bouncing castle and the petting zoo while the others went on the "walk to Bethlehem" tour.  Thomas also loved the maze.  He really liked the dead ends and would purposely find them and then play in them like it was his own little fort area.  We didn't make it till the carols and fireworks as we still had to drive home and get the kids to bed, but it was a great time.

Monday we had our Christmas sales meeting for Tupperware.  I got some great gifts and prizes.  Michael came and helped me carry everything.  Tuesday and Wednesday we did errands and finished up things so we could start packing.  Last night (Wed) we also had our family Christmas.  Check out the great videos on that.  We opened presents, had pizza and watched Shrek the Halls and Claymation Christmas.  Today we are packing and cleaning and my next post will be from Victoria!  I'll try to do a post every week till I get all caught up:)
