Such a Sad Day

My parents had to leave me:(

It was a sad morning. I dropped my parents off at the airport at 8:30am. They were so much help while they were here. I think I only did the dishes twice in two weeks, not to mention all the nappies I didn't have to change, the times my Dad put Thomas to sleep, and the laughter that filled the house while they were here. We will look forward to their next visit with anticipation.

This last week I was driven to get as much done on my to-do lists as I could while I still had my parents here to help. Michael and my Dad got a great start on the veranda. I got all the things that had built up done, including a pillow for the rocking chair, the visa/birth abroad application for Thomas, Sophie's hearing test, laundry for two weeks, and many little cleaning jobs.

We still had time for some fun. Wednesday we did a photo shoot and went bowling. It was Sophie's first time and boy was she funny. You need to watch the video. She really liked watching the ball come up to the holding stand more than she liked watching the pins being knocked over. She learned to celebrate from Grammy and was very cute. Blake did well, improving each game.

We also ended up making to the Australian Outback Spectacular show. I had originally booked it for the wrong day, but they kindly let me change my dates so we went on Thursday. Sophie got a little cranky, but they were even more kind and gave us the VIP area so she could run around freely and we had room to set Thomas on the floor in his carrier without having to block traffic and worry about him being bumped. Michael got to participate in the boat race, where 6 guys ran across the arena in a paper boat. He didn't win, but I think he did it on purpose because we were on the yellow team and they had him running for the red team. The show turned out to be great with lots of audience participation and we even got to keep the cowboy hats.

Thomas is doing well. He sleeps at least 3 hours between feeds at night, and sometimes I get lucky and he goes longer. Last night he even went 5 hours for the first time! He eats more often when he's awake but we don't mind. He's becoming more alert. He's nearly 4.5 Kilo's now and has grown 3 cm since birth. Today is his 1 month birthday.

Thomas and Sophie playing (sleeping) in Mom and Dad's bed. Look at that wonderful Doona (quilt) that my Mom made for us!

Work on the veranda.

What beautiful posts, don't you think?

Guy bonding time.

New outfit. Cowboy boots (her new favorite) w/o socks, stretch jeans, skirt, tank top, and shade hat. She's so creative. I wonder if she's going to be a designer when she grows up.

Thomas and the star quilt my Mom made for him.
