The struggles of parenthood

I haven't yet figured out what possessed us to want two children under 2....... *sigh*. We are slowly adapting. Twice this week I was able to get both the children to take naps at the same time. And just as I thought I was adapting to the lack of sleep and getting everyone into a routine, Sophie got sick and was up from 2:30-4:30am last night.

Besides that, there's not too much I can complain about. Thomas is sleeping through the night. Well he wakes up to eat every 3 hours, but sleeps while he's eating and goes straight back into bed when he's done so there's not pacing about and rocking and stuff to get him to go back down again. It's a great blessing. Sophie is slowly adapting. She's starting to accept that other people can help her when Mom is busy. She now knows what it means to 'wait your turn'. And she's getting better at not wanting to be picked up all the time. Now if we can just get her to stop taking her nappy (diaper) off while in her crib (cot).... well, we can't have everything all at once can we.

As for pictures... I always heard that the third child gets left out. I never believed it because all my children are so cute, but when you have a toddler running around as well you don't have time to grab the camera to get that cute shot because once you leave the baby, she thinks it's her turn to have your attention. I only got two pictures this week and 1 video. Though in my defense, we didn't do anything all week. We didn't even work on the veranda this week. It was Michael's first week back and work. Blake spent the whole week at school doing a sports camp. And I stayed at home and tried to handle two children by myself. We did go to the shops one day, boy that hour felt like eternity.

Blake starts school again tomorrow. I spent the day planning a trip to the Great Barrier Reef that we are taking with my brother in Oct. And Michael is again at work. So exciting I know. Though this week coming I have two appointments to take the children too and I'm going to start posting our little girl clothes on Ebay. Should be fun! hehehe. You know how I like organization. If I can get rid of the girls clothes, the caravan out of the carport, and a garage sale all done by the end of July, I'll be one happy camper.

Now I can see that I'm rambling. It's due to lack of grown up conversation. I'll leave you now with one video and two photo's though I'm sure I could ramble and talk to myself for another few pages.

Huge grass hopper. You don't see many of them, but when you do, they are big enough to eat your dog.
