This last week was filled with fun. My parents were here and Michael took a few days off. We went down to the farm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and hung out with Kaye and David. On Monday we just showed them around the farm and Murwillumbah. On Tuesday we showed my Dad Byron Bay - the Eastern most point of Australia. My mom had seen it before but she enjoyed it again. On Wednesday we just hung out at the farm as it was very rainy. Blake got to learn how to butcher chickens and the boys ran around in the rain. Michael quite enjoyed the rest.
On Thursday I was able to get a lot of my 'to-do' list done as my parents were great help with the children. Friday was Blake's sports day at school and also his last day before school holidays. We all bought yellow shirts to show our support to his 'house' at school. It also made it really easy to pick him out in the crowd because he was the only one in his group that was wearing yellow. We got to see him do some throwing games, run the 100m dash, tug-o-war and some ball games.
This weekend we worked some more on the house. On Sunday we were supposed to go to this Dinner and Show called the Australian Outback Spectacular that had horses and stuff, but when I booked it, I made the mistake of booking for the last Sunday in May instead of the last Sunday in June. It was a big disappointment but we ended up taking my parents out to a Mexican restaurant for their anniversary/mother's/father's day present. It was tasty.
On Monday we went Whale Watching! It was very exciting. Sophie seemed to enjoy the boat ride, as long as she was in Dad's arms. Blake had a blast, and I think Sophie saw a whale or two but didn't know quite what to make of it. Thomas slept the whole time. Good thing he was free! We were able to see many different pods of whales and some were even showing off for us. It was hard to get video since the boat was moving up and down so much, but Michael too nearly 300 photo's (some even turned out!). It was a lovely experience.
Sophie in the front of the boat. Look at the wind in her hair!
Blake did very well following all the safety instructions so we often let him go to the front of the boat on his own. There were many kids there that didn't! It was the first time we had to get our winter coats out.
Here's a fin.
Nice shot.
A nose! We even had a few that breached for us though we didn't get that on film.
What a cutie:)
A new fashion statement. A blue striped tank top put on funky so only your arms are covered and your tummy is bare, green undies, and tennis shoes with no socks.
Dad comes to visit and ends up tearing down our house!
Painting the board for the veranda.
What a good helper he is too.
Awwww. Big brother enjoying his new kin.
The family at the farm.
