All about Blake

Well this last week was mostly about Blake. We got to see him sing in the Choir, dance in a contest and had an interview with his teacher. His choir is practicing to participate in a competition in August so they sang at a school assembly on Friday. Parents were allowed to come and watch. They sang three songs but unfortunately only one come up really good on my videos. You can't see him very well, but if you look closely in the 2nd row behind a girl, you will see his forehead.

On Wednesday we went to parent-teacher interviews. His teacher had many good things to say about him and how much he improved since last term. We hope he continues to progress in his social behavior and has always been excellent in academics. This term they got to create a convict and make up journal entries as they were studying the first Australian settlers from the UK. He really liked making up stories. They also got to create their own newspaper which was fun as well.

On Sunday my parents arrived from the US! They barely had time to unpack and rest before we were off to the Interschool Dance Challenge! Blake got to participate in the Year 4 and Year 5 foxtrot and cha cha competition. He didn't make the semi finals but did a fine job and looked really smart in his dress shirt. The people that hosted the competition did a great job. Between each competition they had all the kids get up and taught them a dance for a song to keep them all moving and interested.

My parents arrived safely and slept really well the first night. We are down at the farm for these first few days as Kaye and David are leaving on Friday to go down south. Yesterday they did a tour of the farm and relaxed. Today we gave them a tour of Byron Bay and the light house there, which is the eastern most point of Australia. They were able to see both whales and dolphins from the lighthouse. I'll have to get pictures from them to post (eventually).
