Busy Busy Busy

Wow, I didn't realize it's been so long since I last updated. Let's see; where to start. The weekend of the 29-30th Michael rented the stump grinder. Janet came up to help and we felled the last of the palm trees. Michael ground out the stumps so our yard was ready for us to start using. Here are some video's of Michael being manly.

Then we went to a nursery or two and choose trees. I got 5 flowering trees and Kaye gave me some other flowers and bushes to decorate the front of the house and the veranda. Michael got 9 fruit trees for himself and 2 for me. We also have a few fruit things that grow on vines and shrubs that will go in the last garden when we get it build up. We got two veggies patches done with two more planned.

This last weekend was Father's day. Michael got to go to some car thing (Speed on Tweed), but mostly he did work on the farm to get stuff for our yard. He's getting stuff ready to put in the slab that the shed is going to go on. That's his project for this week. Hopefully by Sat he will have a slab and can start building a shed the following week.

Blake is still doing well in school. He has two weeks left till his next 2 week break. He is still swimming twice a week, but will go to once a week next term so he can try tennis. Baseball starts this week and he's really excited to see his friends. Most of his footy mates do baseball as well.

Sophie has become quite the little socialite. On Tuesdays we go to the library for Baby Time and if she's not tired we stay for Toddler time as well. Wednesday's we go to play group at the church. Thursday's she goes to daycare for a bit, and Friday's she has swimming lessons. Geez!, she's got more on her agenda than I do. hehehe. Though play group and the library is for me to meet mum's as well. And each thing is only about an hour long so we still have plenty of time at home.

Me, well besides being sore all over from doing yard work, I've also been working on my next quilt. I've gotten two blocks done. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but I was modifying a pattern and didn't know how much material I was going to need so I only did two at first. Hopefully this week I can get the rest (18) done. I won't be doing any yard work this week besides watering. Boy, everything hurts. Even my wrists and elbows, knees and toes. I mainly shoveled out the dirt, rocks, and wood chips in the old gardens to use for our trees and dug up the roots and crap that the last owners were trying to hide by covering them with lots of chips to make it look neater to sell. *sigh*. Oh well, only two gardens left to go. The two biggest ones are done, the two littlest ones left.

David and Kaye are remodeling their house. Sophie watched Blake and David paint and the next day we found her doing this. She was actually going up and down just like a real painter.

Sophie at play group. It's really fun going to play with other peoples toys. We don't have to store them or clean them, but she gets to play with them. Works out for both of us.

She loved this little doll pram (stroller). She pushed it around for the first 30 minutes. We are still getting to the point where we actually play with other children, but it's coming. Last week two of the kids tried to hug her. She didn't know what to do!

Each month we put Sophie on the toilet a few mornings to see if she's ready for potty training. She did manage to potty in the pot twice last month but we decided she wasn't ready yet. We'll try again later this month. This is how we entertain her on the pot. Blake reads to her and I make her toast.
