Birthdays and videos

Still no shed. Or maybe it's a shed with that invisible material that you can only see if you are worthy? Anyway, Sophie was sick on Sat night and Monday. I was sick on Tuesday, Michael was sick on Thursday....so the shed didn't get done. So that's the main priority this week. I did get most of my website done. Just a few touch ups and then waiting for her to get me the rest of the information. I do say, it turned out pretty nice.

This weekend we did more yard work. I'm working on the front two gardens now. Taking them out and replacing them with grass. There was a 6 in layer of wood chips, then another layer of small rocks mixed in with hidden larger rocks, then a layer of roots all before I could get to the good stuff. I'm nearly done with that, then I just have to fill it back up with good dirt and plant seed. I should be done with it tomorrow or the next day. Needless to say, my quilting project was also put on hold due to the website and sickness so there is no update there.

This is Blake's last week before 2 weeks school holiday. It's also my birthday week! Sunday we had a nice lunch at Gillian's with a Mexican theme. Sophie didn't know what to think when we blew out the candles. I thought it pretty handy that my age was also the two numbers we are going to need for her next two birthdays.

She didn't have any problems with eating the cake though! She's a chocolate lover already.
Now that the weather is getting warmer, we got out Sophie's new pool. Well we got it last year but it never got used. We always had the blue one. You can see it in the back right corner, but now it has sand in it. This one is just big enough to sit in. It's so cute.

Blake got a participation trophy for playing AFL with the Ormeau Bull Dogs.

And I'll leave you with a few videos.

1. Sophie is becoming quite the little princess. I couldn't help but buy some hair clips for her. She loves playing with them. They even came in a little heart case that she can wear as a necklace. She loves it.

2. I finally got my Carmel Cinnamin rolls to turn out just like my mom's! It was Sophie's first taste. I didn't get the whole video, only one minute, but she put it to her mouth and wouldn't take it out! She chewed like in the video until the whole thing was gone.

3. How much fun can a pair of red underwear really be? Well this is only 3 of the 30+ minutes she played with them. Oh, and she does it nearly every morning too. It's a toy that doesn't loose it's fun after the first time. For a bit there she was playing torro with Rocky.

4. She really learns from her Dad. When he was growing up, his parents wondered why they never got ripe strawberries. Well he would come home from school every day and pick them all and eat them right then. She's following in his foot steps. She can even tell when one isn't ripe, you'll see her spit it out.

5. Here is a tour of our yard and all the hard work we are doing. If you can't remember what it used to look like, there are some nice photo's and another tour on the Palm Trees post.

6. Alternate things you can do with your trophy. By Blake McNaught.

7. You know how some people pace when they get bored? Well Sophie is one of those. She can walk around for hours with no destination in mind. Don't worry, this video is only 3 minutes, not hours:)

8. Well, you all know we don't get snow here, but who says we can't go sledding!?
