We started at 10:00am! Blake was having a bring your friend to AFL day. AFL is one of the 'footy' they have here. It's sort of rugby only with Australian rules instead of .....well whatever other rules there are. He just started and I haven't been able to watch much since I take Sophie. He does have his first practice game tonight so hopefully Michael will be there to take Sophie or explain things to me. So I went to pick up the boys at Jake's house to drive them to practice only to find that Jake moved! He used to be our neighbor. Needless to say, we were nearly 30 minutes late.
Once we got there they were in the coaches hands so I didn't have to worry about it till I got them all back, extremely wet and grassy as it had rained the whole week before. I took them home and cleaned them up and fed them sandwiches. Then we were off to the beach. I let them play at the beach until they wanted to come home. Once they got cold I had them shower and go dry off, just to have them ask to go back into the water again. So off they went again. We got back to the house about 5pm.
Then I had them go to the park and play tennis. I walked them down there with Sophie, Rocky and Michael. The tennis courts were plumb full and there was a waiting line. But they boys found ways to have fun anyway. I went back to the house early to get the pizza's ready. After the boys ate my home made pizza's it was movie time. Except one of them didn't want to sit still so he convinced the others to not watch the movie. *sigh* Weren't they tired out yet!? They played for a bit and then got bored so tried to watch another movie, but that didn't work either.
By this time I was worn out and so were they. I told them to pick out some cards and games and go in Blake's room. The rule was to not wake up Sophie or us and they could play as long as they wanted to. Since the grass was too wet for out door camping, we set the tent up in Blake's room. Michael had to negotiate with them a bit as they were so tired they weren't all getting along. Dillion ended up going to bed outside the tent while Blake and Jake played inside the tent.
The next morning I thought I only had to feed them and let them play a little frogger and piano and they would be gone by 9am. It should be a relaxing day. Well, if they would have gotten picked up at 9 it would have. Instead we had to stay at the house since I thought their moms were coming at any time, but they didn't come till near 11?! One boy wanted to play games, but couldn't keep focus so changed games every 5 minutes, while the other wanted to play the piano, and Blake wanted to watch movies. Needless to say, I was very happy with the boys left and Blake was down for his nap. All in all it wasn't too bad.
This weekend we will give him a family birthday party and his presents and I'll be sure to get some pictures this time. I did take photo's of his quilt before I wrapped it. I also have a few more Sophie video's posted. I think you will notice a theme this time.
