Well this week was mainly boring. I finished two sewing projects, but I can't show them because they are gifts for people who I hope are reading this. I ordered some stuff for my last project for Christmas so it should be here next week. I finally made it down to the art museum and got a present I have been seeking for a long time. I can't believe I finally found it. Of course I can't tell you what it is either because it will give away the surprise. Don't you just love Christmas time?
We have been having lots of rain and a few thunderstorms here. They have been fun to watch, though it makes doing laundry and going to the beach difficult. It rains so much here, that when I went downtown I saw that the rubbish bins (trash cans) had little umbrella covers. Yesterday we did get to go in the pool again. Blake has so much fun in that pool, it is half empty of water when he gets done! Of course then it rains again and fills it up so we are good to go.
Michael is gone this weekend with the boys doing a triple triathlon. He was doing the 1st and 3rd bike legs. I'm not sure how far it went but it was a long way because it took him over 2 hours to complete each leg. I think it was 30 Km or something there about. We do miss him, but him being away means we can go out to play right?
So, since I was going downtown to get that gift, Kaye and I decided to make a day of it. We went had a blast. We were right next to the river and they had an open market. Of course I didn't go look because then I would want to buy something. We walked down the whole park/strip area to get to the art museum. They had a lot of hands on things to do for Blake. And of course the only time I need my camera, I don't have it. I let Michael take it with him on his trip.
During our walk, we got to walk under this beautiful archway that was covered in vines and purple flowers. It provided shade and beauty. They also had a path that you could take and experience a 'rain forest' which ended in a Nabenese Peace Pagona. It was beautifully carved and a wonder to look at. And of course, no camera again. We ate lunch with the river on one side and a park/playground on the other side. They have this pool area that is blocked off from the river that everyone goes to play in. It's sort of a combination of a pool and a beach. We let Blake have a little dip, but then he had to ride home in his underware which was funny in itself cause he's so self conscience. It was very nice and I am definitely going back there with Michael and a camera.
Next week we hope to get to the beach on Thursday, if it's not still raining. I love the rain though cause, for now, it cools things off a bit. The storm we had today while I was gone must have been really bad because there are lots of trees that had branches broken off. Oh that reminds me. Did you know that spurce tree's limbs actually grow up? Can you imagin having a Christmas tree with limbs going up instead of down? Anyway, I was informed that since they have no snow here to weigh the limbs down, the grow up instead. Which, if you think about it, makes since. All other trees limbs grow up. I'll get a picture so you can see how funny it looks.
We are going to have great news next week. Our Visa is going to come in. (At least that is what we are praying for.) And we will be able to purchase our plane tickets to come visit everyone in the US and my sister in London. (please please please please come in.)
