Playing Catch Up

I'm playing catch up again!  It's been nearly a month since I last updated.  Sorry!  But this will be my last update, after this Michael is taking over as the 'stay at home Dad' so we can blame him when it's late! hehehe.  But I'll get to his arrival later in the post.  First I have to catch you up on the last month.  Last we left we just got done with Blake's tournament in Sturgis and we headed off to Dad's company picnic. The picnic was quite interesting.  We got to throw toilet seats as horse shoes and bean bags into holes in windows.  The kids loved it.  Blake got first prize for getting the most points and got a $100 prize!  He still hasn't decided what he's going to spend it on.  The rest of us all won during the raffle so we went home happy people but very tired as it was two long days in the hot sun.  Oh and Blake's team got 4th in the tournament too.

The week after that brought a little excitement.  I had some skin samples taken out for biopsy's so I had 8 stitches put in.  That means my Insanity workouts got interrupted.  I started the Ultimate Reset which is a 3 day vegan eating plan with no exercise.  It was hard, but I made it through.  I also got news that I passed my medical certifications so I'm now in the process of signing up for the ICD-10 coding class.  For those of you who don't know, they are switching code books at the end of the year so I need this one last class if I want to be certified past Oct.  Should be easy since I know all the basics.  And lastly, that week brought Leah and Jon over from the UK.

The weekend of the 22nd and 23rd Blake had his first swim meet in Gillette.  I was the only one that went so it was hard for me to cheer and take video. I really get into my cheering.  He did well and even got a state time in the 50 free.  The evenings were spending time with Leah and Jon quickly before they left for their visiting around the states.  The weekend of the 29th Blake, Grammy and Grandpa got to go East and attend a ceremony that named the Wessington Springs airport after my Grandpa.  It was a very good ceremony. The little ones and I had a much needed break and some quality time together.  We stayed over at Elissa's on Friday so they could spend time with Madison before she left for the summer (that's their babysitter).  Then Sat we went to ride bikes and play in the creek and then home to a quite house and a sleep in.

The weekend after that we had Blake's 2nd and last swim meet.  It was in Rapid and we thought that convenient cause Michael's plan was supposed to come in that weekend.  It didn't work out that way because I ended up driving to Rapid 4 times in 3 days but I'll let Michael tell you about his travels in his post.  Blake did very well.  My mom was able to attend on Sat so we got a few videos.  And that's where I'm going to leave you.  Michael is going to do another post tonight or tomorrow to explain about his travels over here, his first week here, and the progress on the house.

The 4th of July weekend.  I just remembered I forgot to type about that.  For those of you in Australia, the 4th of July is our Independence day.  We started the day with a parade.  It was a good parade, though a little wet. It did rain a little but we had umbrella's.  The wet part was because the people on the floats are used to it being really hot and they like to throw water balloons and squirt guns at the crowd.  We were at the end so they were pretty much emptying everything they had on us.  The kids still had fun.  They got a sack full of candy, though it had to be thrown away cause it got all wet and yucky.  Michael and I didn't mind that, have you seen my kids on candy?  lol.
