Trip back East River SD

Well this time I have not much news, but a lot of photos!  The weekend of the 18th and 19th we went Garage saleing and found some great deals but not too much to talk about.  Then I went on another work trip while Blake finished up his last week of school and the kids went to daycare.  The fun started on the 23rd when we embarked on our trip back East River.  We left Thursday at 1:30, made two stops for snacks and made it to Wessington Springs about 7:30.  We stopped to visit Stella and Grandpa Kraft at the nursing home before checking into our hotel.  The kids had great fun running in the little garden while Grandpa showed us the flowers he planted and Dad entertained us with stories.

On Friday we saw Grandpa again after breakfast and then got back in the car to drive to Sioux Falls for the State Track Meet (High School).  We made it to the track just as it was being cleared out for lightening.  The kids played under the bleachers while we passed the time. The weather turned nice after the storm and our Cousins had two great runs.  Then we went back to the hotel and put two very tired children to bed.  Playing with the Aunts and cousins is very wearing...for everyone!

On Sat we had a lazy morning and then back to the track by 11 for two more races.  The mile had two very exciting endings, one for 1st and 2nd and one for 3rd and 4th.  Happily our cousins were the ones that won coming in 1st and 3rd.  We stayed to watch the relay and then got back into the car and drove to Dollan and Aunt Beth's house.  The kids had great fun playing basketball and with farm tractor toys.  After the kids went to bed we were entertained by watching our cousin in a school play before retiring.

On Sunday we went back to Wessington Springs to visit with Grandpa.  We took him out to watch us work cows at the old farm.  He seemed to like that. Then back for a rest and then pizza at the nursing home before retiring.  We visited Grandpa one more time in the morning before we hopped back in the car and headed for home.  With one quick stop to say good-bye to Jeremiah has he headed back to Denver and another stop in Rapid for lunch and to buy workout shoes we were home by 3pm.  Just in time to do laundry, unpack and settle in to get ready for the week.

This was my last week of work.  It was anticlimatic.  I am sad to go, the campus there is very pretty and the people were great, but I'm sure I will love the new job I'm going to as well.  I start that on Monday.  This weekend is supposed to be rainy and yucky until Sunday, when we plan to celebrate Thomas' birthday.  We do get a visit from Aunt Beth and cousin Donnie while he comes to check out BHSU which he will be attending next year.  It's great to be back around family again.  I really did miss all the Aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents.

For some reason the photos are all out of order and blogger won't let me format them properly and quite frankly I'm too tired to figure it out so just enjoy and be nice :)
