Christmas

Christmas was a lot of fun, as always.  We had a nice dinner of roast chicken, potato bake, roasted carrot, cashew loaf, and berries and cream.  We planned it just right to have just enough left overs for the evening meal but none for the next day.  Kaye and David were back from their trip to New Zealand and were able to join us for the day.  My folks were able to skype with us during gift opening - which is why we don't have many photos.  I was holding the computer and Michael was in charge of the camera.  For some reason we have different ideas on what is important enough for a photo.

I think the funniest thing was that Thomas opened this weasel ball first and then he didn't want any more gifts.  We kept asking him if he wanted another present and he would say, "No, I got this.".  He finally did open the rest of his gifts but promptly went back to the weasel.  No matter that it was probably the cheapest toy and meant for a cat :).  The weather was nice, but not too hot.  We didn't have to use the a/c so that was nice.

The day after Christmas - called boxing day here - we packed up and went to the farm for the week.  The kids had a great time going to the ocean, riding bikes with the neighbours, riding on the lawnmower and spending time with Kaye and David.  I spent the whole time studying but was very appreciative of all the support and help I got with the kids.

This past week we've just been keeping sane.  Blake has been spending lots of time with friends.  We've been trying to say good-bye to the few close friends we have before our big group 'going away' party where "you can't really talk to anyone because there are too many people there but it's good fun anyway".  We have that scheduled for Jan 27th.

Our time here in Australia is coming to an end soon.  It seemed so far away and now it seems so close.  We move out of our house in little over 2 weeks, and we leave the country in a little over 4 weeks.  More details to follow.

Fun on the lawnmower.  PS, this is not the riding lawnmower I talked about above:)

Thomas - I think that explains everything.

Left: - building toilet paper towers.
Right: Thomas and his weasel ball. (It goes around by itself when you turn it on.)

Sophie opening presents and showing them to Grammy on skype.

Thomas eating berries and cream.
