Fun in the Sun

My kids are always cuter when I'm away from them for a bit.  I've got so many pictures to add to this post that it might get crazy.  Two weekends ago, we had a nice BBQ at our Cousin Jadd's.  We got to meet our new cousin Pepper and have a nice birthday celebration for his wife, Heather.  They had a great paddling pool for the kids to play in and a Flying Fox that was a big hit.

The rest of last week was just getting back into a routine.  We went to our playgroups, and bible study, the shops etc.  It was nice to have my days back to normal.  It's getting really hot here so we put the Sand away and got out the swimming pool.  We tried having both for awhile and it just didn't work..  The pool would need emptied every day.  Michael relaid some bricks at our house to tidy up the yard a bit and Thomas loved helping him.

I did my first 3 parties for Tupperware. It's not hard, and by the 3rd party I was actually enjoying myself, but I've had to face a lot of fears with this job, speaking in front of others, talking to strangers, being friendly after my bedtime....but it's been great.  I have 4 more parties this week and then it should fizzle down for the holidays.  I've got to experiment with some new recipes, meet some of my neighbours, and get some cool rewards too.

Last weekend we had a lovely day down at the farm.  Michael and David have started to build their new pecan machine and they've also got an automatic peeler which we are excited about.  I'm sure we will be spending a great many weekends of the new year down there till it's all ready for harvest in April.  On Sunday we got to go to the Kite Festival.  The kids had great fun and even Rocky got to go.  I'm dragging Michael to a bunch of family fun free stuff to pay be back for all the time he's working on the pecan machine.

Blake's school is wrapping up things as well.  We had his swim carnival on Tuesday.  He got 3 3rds, 1 2nd and 1 1st.  He was very excited.  They had a relay at the end where the students raced the teachers and it was really funny.  They kept telling the kids 'that's close enough go' when the other student wasn't at the end yet, and the teachers were doing cannon balls and extra splashing while swimming.  It was great fun.  The teachers still won, though they announced it that the kids won.

Tomorrow we have a mother-son night out going to his school musical.  He didn't sign up for it this year, and didn't get drawn to help backstage, so I'm hoping once he sees it he will be excited to be in it next year.  He's also going to run for house captain next year, which should be fun.  He's growing up so fast!

Left: Sophie in her room during 'rest' time.  She put all her 'kiddies' on the blanket for a picnic and then they had to take a sleep in their bests "cause that what Daddy has us do".
Right: Sophie on the flying fox.

Like Daddy like Thomas.  Moving the tiles, digging in the dirt.  Boys will be boys.

Left: Eating breakfast together.
Right: Sophie wanted to put make up on but only had markers.  She also put make up on some of her dolls.
