Stitches and Holidays

This week was quite exciting, but lets talk about last week first. It was very relaxing for me. Michael was preparing to go away for a week for work. So I made him give me a work from all the large house chores and the children. He scrubbed the floors, did the bi-weekly shopping, took Blake to all his activities, and did everything with the children from the time he got home till the time they went to bed, and he got up with them in the mornings. It was great! Almost great enough that I wouldn't mind if he went away more often....but not quite.

As for me, I was able to get all caught up with my projects. I was a little behind on my cross stitching. Hopefully Australia Post Express won't let me down and my gift will get to Jeremiah and Amber before their wedding. I am also all ready, a week early, for my sister to have her baby. What a great project week.

Michael left on Sunday evening. We've been doing well as can be expected. Monday was easy because I didn't have anything to do. Tea (supper) was prepared in advance, and there was no baking and little dishes to do. Tuesday got a little hairy because I was baking cookies for playgroup, but we managed, due to Tea being provided by Kaye.

Wednesday we were tested. I got a call from Blake's school nurse. He had an injury that she thought needed doctors attention. I'm always a little sceptical when other mothers talk about doctors because it seems that some of them go to the doctor for everything. But sure enough, when I picked him up, I could see he needed stitches. So I called on a friend from playgroup, dropped my little kids off and went to the emergency room. in Australia you have to go there any time you don't have an appointment with your regular doctor and those are hard to get into at the last minute. So even though it wasn't an 'emergency' we were in the emergency room from 4pm to 8pm last night.

Kaye had already planned on coming up to assist after work, so she picked the kids up from our friends house and brought them home to feed them and put them to bed. Blake was brave and patient for the most part. They took x-rays just to make sure it only needed stitches and was one of the reasons why it took us so long. Oh, I never told you how it happened. Blake was at school, trying to go around some naughty kids on the footpath by jumping up on the wall to the garden, but his foot slipped and he took a chunk out of his knee as landed on the edge of the cement block. He got 6 stitch in a little smile shape.

The photos and videos are from the last two weeks as Michael has the main photo/video computer. But I'm sure you will still enjoy them.

Sophie and Thomas jumping on the Trampoline.

This was just too cute not to post. Now that it's getting warmer, we have lots of nudie time.

Left: Thomas is quite the climber now. He even knows how to go get a stool when he's trying to reach something. Nothing is safe.
Right: Sophie likes to have Thomas play dress up with her. Isn't that the way with younger brothers?
