Welcome 2011

2011 has treated us well so far. Jon and Bec came up to visit on Monday, after we spent a 4 day weekend with them down at the farm. Jessie came in on New Years Eve so we got 2 days with her and then she’s coming up tonight to stay for 2 days with us before heading back south. I would like to say it will be nice to have the house to ourselves again and settle down but since Michael has decided to sell the house we have to keep it inspection ready. Each morning we get up and clean, and then I clean again at nap time, and again before bed!

Today I thought we had it all ready, we got a call that someone was coming in an hour and I realized I had so much more stuff to do! High chair, rugs, feeding pillow, stools, etc all go to the shed. Veranda needs to be swept, laundry needs to come in to the dryer, dishes need to be put away, sinks need to be cleaned..... whew. Thank goodness the regular cleaning was done. Blake and I were ready in 30 minutes, but then they called an cancelled. *sigh* such is life.

Sophie started her first day of Pre-Kindy on Tuesday. She goes twice a week and just loves it. I wish it didn’t cost so much. I’ve debated several times to take her out of it, but to see the joy on her face when she’s getting ready to go and to hear all her stories (half of which we can’t even understand but sound really exciting) when she gets home always makes me change my mind. Thomas is starting day care on Mondays so I have one day with Sophie alone so we can go to swim lessons and have girl time. I’m excited to start that next week.

Thomas is teething again. He will have 8 teeth by the end of this week if they don't recede. The second set of four are popping through now, you can just see them. He is sitting up well by himself and can get onto all fours but is not yet crawling. He has been waking me about 4 times a night for comfort due to teeth, but not eating, so I’m hoping that means when his teething is over, he will sleep the whole night through.

Blake is still on school holidays but is keeping busy. He’s been saving money for some game/movie/music player thing and nearly has enough. With our house on the market he gets to mow the grass nearly twice a week and gets $5 each time. He also likes to go to the Bunnings Do-it-yourself projects that they have for kids. He made a windmill today. He’s been a big help with cleaning the house and has all his summer reading done for his junior book club.

Kaye is going to come up every other Friday to give me a kid free day all to myself! Massages here I come! Reading books in the park with no distractions, maybe even do another cross stitch, oh the possibilities are endless.

Michael is mainly just doing whatever I need help with currently. He’s stopped working on the house since we are selling, but still keeps the gardens and yard looking wonderful. It is nice that he gets to stop and be with the family now. Maybe he'll even be able to finish that DVD of all the blog video's to hand out to those of you who can't watch them online. I wouldn't hold my breath, but it's a good thought.

Thomas at the bowling center. He was a great cheerleader, though we kept having to bribe him with treats.

Sophie only bowled three frames when she realized that playing with the unused balls was more fun than waiting her turn.

He's not posing is he? No, he wouldn't do that :)
