Flooding here???

So first an update on all the flood news. For those of you that don't know, the Brisbane River has risen 4.6 meters and has flooded most of downtown. 110,000 were out of power and there were another couple of thousand that had their houses flooded and still some more were evacuated just in case. The water has stopped rising and is slowing going down. The TV has started showing normal shows again and only has extended news times and an update every now and then instead of being all about the flood all day long.

As for us, we weren't affected too much. In fact, since I don't watch TV or listen to the radio, I had no clue it was flooding this close to me till my friends on Facebook started asking if we were ok. Some of the trucks couldn't get through to restock the groceries stores so they are running short on milk, flour, and bread. Thankfully we are fully stocked on all those. We also have a gas stove and a generator to power our fridge and freezer. So if we happen to loose our power we will be fine. Though so far it looks like we won't have to worry about it.

In other news.... We has a buyer for our house on Sunday. We signed the papers on Monday but then was told this morning (Thursday) that the buyer has backed out. We still did our open house on Wednesday and haven't done anything rash in anticipation of the sell so no harm done. Just back to square one. Hopefully that means we will also get a better price! I'm not sure if the flood will help or harm us. There will be plenty of people who need a new place to live, but unfortunately they don't provide flood insurance here either so there will be plenty of people who don't have any money.

Sophie is still enjoying her time at Jr. Kindy. Thomas had his first day at daycare on Monday and when we dropped him off, Sophie cried because she wanted to go too. Thomas did fine one his first day and has since learned to stand up in his cot and crawl. We call it crawling because he can go three paces on his hands and knees but he's not moving too fast or too far just yet. That should come soon (too soon). Blake (and I say this in a loving way) is driving me up the wall. With all the wet and rain he hasn't had much outlet for his energy. Thankfully I only have 10 days left till school starts. We were able to enjoy some time with Auntie Jessie has she came up last weekend. She was able to make it back home before the flood got bad.

Sophie in her big girl clothes for 'school'.

But she's still enough of my 'little' girl that I take pictures of her sleeping!

Blake will never tell you this, but he loves playing with Sophie. Especially dress up. So far I haven't been able to get a picture of him in his skirt and high heels, but here he is playing with hair ties.

Yes Rocky is still one of our babies and is still as cute as ever. When Thomas falls over and cries he runs over to him and gives him kisses.

Sophie checking out her new hair style. Auntie Jessie put in three pony tales!
