Well we found out last week that we are not going to be able to get a loan to do the extension or to come to the US in June. It was a sad time for all of us but we have picked ourselves back up and are looking at the bright side. Without the loan I won't need to get a job after the baby is born and we have other ideas for house improvements that don't take a loan.
The first improvement that Michael gifted me with was a closet organizer! Any of you who know me will understand how happy this mad me. The other things will be slower in coming but at least I saw some progress this weekend. We are still going to do the carport, water tank, and solar power, but they will be slower in coming as we will pay for one at a time with our saved money. We are also thinking of getting one of those portable office type trailer things (they call them Donga's over here) to put on the side of the house to use as an extra bedroom/storage/office/project place. We haven't really decided what we will use it for but I have a million ideas.
With other news, Sophie continues to grow and learn. Today she actually helped to clean the house and kept cleaning even after I thought we were done. It was so cute, after my own heart. The baby is doing well. I'm at 24 weeks and will take my glucose test soon. I hope I'm not diabetic this time. Michael has finished all his unfinished projects that were piling up and is ready to start something new. Blake is still doing well in school. He joined the Choir last week. He's also working on his first quilt (well small quilted wall hanging).
My flowers are starting to bloom. Of course they are still little but once they grow big just think how pretty they will be.
This will be a full size tree when it's done growing.
These will be very full bushes and will grow about 3 feet.
This is my latest quilt. It turned out a little busier than I would have liked but....what can you do. The background is full of butterflies but they are hard to see in this picture. It's for Sophie. I plan to give it to her in June (our winter) when the baby is born so she's not left out.
My new closet.
Sophie took Kaye's bag and was running away. Just kidding. She was just dragging it around on the porch being as cute as ever.
