Sophie's birthday was August 10th. My how time flies. We had a party for her on Sunday. As with most 1st birthday's, it was more for the parents than the child! I was able to get my mom and Dad to coordinate with us so they could watch her open her gifts on webcam. She liked opening the gifts, but then she wanted to play with them instead of opening the next gift. I mean really, isn't a toy better than a wrapped up box? Well...maybe not for Sophie. She played with a silver box for a good 10 minutes before we could get her to move on to the next gift.
She has a tendancy to suck on David's watch. So he gathered up some old watches to give her and that was the end of the gift opening. All she wanted to do was play with the watches. She was trying to put them on her head like a necklace. It was so cute.
We still don't have any new words, but we are officially walking. She will now walk till she falls, stand up and continue walking as of today. I can finally put her in dresses! They were so bothersome when she was crawling.
She also has this new habit of 'finger testing' things before she eats them. It's really cute. Here she does it to a sausage.

Over all it was a good turn out. I'm getting into a bad habit of just filming everything, but I did manage to get a few still shots (or someone with my camera did!) to leave you with.
Sophie's new Tryke. It's neat because the parent can push and steer with a handle and not have to be bent over.
