So we moved in to a place that was surrounded by palm trees. At first look they were lovely and provided nice shade. However, after awhile you got tired of not seeing the sun, having to rake up all the berries they drop, housing fruit bats, and not having any room for a yard. So we took to the task of elimiating this pesky weeds known as palm trees.
Our yard has a total of 19, though we have only done the 13 in the back yard so far. The front yard will be harder as there are more things for them to fall on and they are tangled in the power lines. That will be task for another time. David and Michael did the felling and cutting up to managable sizes while Kaye and I loaded and dumped the rubble at the local tip (garbage heep). Thankfully it's free to dump 'green waste'. After 14 trips to the dump and over 9 tons of waste, we have all 13 trees in the back yard cleared.
