School Sports Day

Well this week has been really busy for us. Monday was still school holiday but Blake and I kept busy. We went to 4 different swimming pools to try out their facilities and get swim club information. We also started our packing and cleaning. Tuesday I cleaned the whole house so the realistate office could show the house. Do you know how hard it is to pack and keep the house clean at the same time? I'm managing to do it but barely.

Wednesday we drove over to the new neighborhood so Blake could meet his new AFL coach and play with the team. Blake also had school sports day on Wednesday and Thursday. Of course he told me it was only Thursday so I totally missed watching him do the preliminaries on Wed. On Thursday I went from 11-1, between Sophie's naps. I got to see him do the shotput, and Javelin and long jump. Here are some video's.

He also ran the 100m dash and came in 2nd. He got 4th in the high jump and his house (the school is divided into 4 houses, kind of like fraternities) got 1st in Leader Ball. I'm not sure what that is but it sounds like fun with a lot of ball throwing and running. Today is his last day of school and I spoiled him by letting him have tuck shop. For all those America's reading, there is no school lunch served over here. You either have to buy lunch each day at the Tuck Shop (sort of like a sports game concession stand) or pack their lunch. We had Blake take his own lunch in the US so we just kept that up here. It's much healthier. But he was really excited to have Tuck Shop as a treat.

In other news - Sophie is starting to walk. She's been standing alone for a long time. And then she started taking one step but I didn't really consider that walking. Now she consistantly takes one-two steps before getting down to crawl and she even took 3 steps the other day. Of course she gets excited and her head moves faster than her body so the whole three steps she was actually falling at the same time, but it still counts! She's starting to jabber a whole bunch, but no words yet except her Yeah, and Yum. She does make this Wookie sound. We try to video it but each time we get the camera out she gets mad at us. (Yes that has started all ready.) Here is a video of the once we caught her before she saw the camera.

I have finished my quilting projects so was able to pack away my sewing room. Michael has been working nonstop running errands and doing manly stuff. Yesterday he took a load of bricks and pallets to the new place, measured some things, and picked up the new reverse cycle heater and A/C which will be put in on Sat. He also bought us a new car. Yes, he didn't think our moving was enough, he wanted to put more on our plate so we are trading cars. It's a baby blue Daihatsu Sirion 5Dr Hatchback. I'll get pictures and stuff for next week.

Blake always being the little director/explainer.

Javelin Throw. He got a 4 which was the highest and the only one for his house.

Shotput. His favorite.

Look at that concentration.

Sophie wants to do shotput too.

Rocky's new bed as the nights are colder. It got down to 15 c (59 f) last night! Brrrr.

Sophie in our new fridge. Our old fridge was too big for our new house. However if you look closely, this fridge doesn't have a freezer! We have another freezer that is it's twin that will keep in the garage. Isn't that handy. So we actually went down in total size but got more fridge space.
