Well, last but definitely not least, here is an update on Blake. I left him for last because he's the hardest one. He doesn't always tell us what is going on in his life, which I guess I should expect as he gets older and older.
Swimming - he is getting better at swimming. We moved him to only three days a week since he goes on Wednesdays with his school. He's starting to pick his favorite teachers out and we are rescheduling so he can have those teachers instead of four different ones each week. The only thing holding him back from going to level 6 is his butterfly, so mom may have to step in and give him a few extra lessons to help him along.
Choir - the choir is held during the lunch break and Blake doesn't like to give up his play time, so I don't think he will be joining the choir this year. Though as we wind down with summer and approach fall and winter, he may change his mind. He's still playing the piano at home and that is always helpful to learn notes and reading music.
He's still reading away. His school has a reading program where he gets a token for every 10 minutes he reads. He reads any time we go anywhere in the car, at night before bed, after school, any chance he gets. Last week he got 300 minutes! He keeps rereading his Magic Tree House books and his Secret of Droon books. I try to get him library books, but he seems to like his old books better. Oh for his birthday, Secret of Droon books are a good choice. He has up through number 21 and Special addition's 1 and 2, but there are many more available.
As for the rest of us, we are just trying to keep up. Michael nearly has the computer done so the next post I should be able to get more pictures on here. I have been going on walks and to the beach with Kaye and we are going on another one as a family this Sat. Michael also got me a bike trailer so I am going to take Sophie on a ride to the shops this afternoon. The weather is starting to cool down. If I can make it through March then we will be securely into fall and I shouldn't have to worry about it until next spring!
