Michael Update

Michael is becoming weak!!! I say that in the most loving and sarcastic manor. Though he can carry Sophie, the lunch, the nappy bag and two water bottles on a hike, he has to turn on the AC at night! hehehehe. He turns it on even before I complain. I do believe I've adapted and he hasn't. Of course it's easier for me, being in the heat of the house all day long at 31-32 degree's so when it gets down to 26-27 I think it's great, where he's in the AC at work all day long so when he gets home it's quite a change for him.

He is also changing when it comes to TV. He used to say it was worthless and the only reason why he watched my dancing shows with me was to cuddle. Well I still only have my one dance show, but now he's watching TWO shows all on his own. He watches Top Gear, which is about cars as far as I can tell, and his brother is also very into it. And he watches this show Myth Busters. This show I watch too as it's on a Sat night when I'm usually sewing on the couch. They have people write in and ask them to prove is something can be done or not. Last week they had two.

The first one, they took two phone books and connected them by interweaving the pages of one then the other page by page till they were all like that. Then they tried to pull them apart. It was near impossible. They even got to cars and tried. It took two tanks and something 8000lbs of pressure before they came apart. The other case was a movie myth of that new movie about the shark...Deep Blue Sea (?) Anyway, there is a scene at the end where they harpoon the shark and blow it up.

They tested five aspects, 1. If the amount of flares they had on the move made 2 sticks of dynamite. 2. If the amount of powder in those flares would really make the explosion on the movie. 3. If the two sticks of dynamite they claimed to have, had the explosion on the movie. 4. If they could actually harpoon a man to a shark at the distance they claimed. 5. If the hero would survive such a blast. Needless to say, most of it was false. First the amount of powder in the flares was way too small to make two sticks of dynamite and didn't even do much harm to the shark. The two sticks of dynamite did blow the fake shark in half, but didn't give them the explosion they needed, so then they just had fun and made a really big blast that looked like the movie. They had pressure measurers and the hero would have only survived if he was more than 150m from the blast, which he wasn't. The only real part was the harpoon, but they did it when it wasn't carrying any dynamite or powder. And the amount of powder they actually needed wouldn't have even allowed the harpoon to go 1m. So it was interesting, but the guys on there are like big grown up kids so I can see why Michael likes to watch it.

In other news, at home he is becoming quite the chef. I find some recipes on Betty Crocker and he changes them and fixes them so they are healthier and better for us. I'm really enjoyed him cooking for us. He cooks M-Th because I don't get home from swimming until 6:00-6:30. We've had things like Japanese Shrimp and Soba Noodles, Chunky Garden Lasagna, and Tuna Primavera. I actually look forward to dinner time just to see what he's cooked up. This means I get to do the dishes afterwards but that’s the price I pay. By 7:30 both kids are usually in bed, and he gets self time on the computer and I get self time to sew.

He was able to take time off work to come watch Sophie's swimming lesson. It was so much fun, though our backs were to him most of the time so he didn't get all her grins on camera. Here are a few pictures.
