Well the holidays are over, but our fun has just begun. For the new year we drove to my Grandpa's house in eastern SD. We arrived on New Years eve and sad to say, I went to bed at 10pm. I know, I'm such a party animal. On New Years day, my mom's sister and brother (2 of the 6) came over with their families. Even though this was only 1/3 of my mom's family, the house was full with 18 people. We ate, and ate, and ate and...well you get the picture.
We had good conversation, competitive card games, great food, and an over all fun time. On Jan 2nd, we went to the Corn Palace in Mitchel to watch Mindi, Mitch, and Drew play basketball. You ask, 'why is it called the corn palace?' Well the pictures, both on the inside and outside are made of corn cobs! That's right. And the pictures change frequently too. I'm not sure who the artist is, but geez! Wish you all could have seen it.
We tried to get home on Sat but the weather was too nasty to drive in, so we had a relaxing day at home and some more basketball games in town. Then Sunday we drove home. This week I will be working on my quilting project and getting ready to go to Denver for the weekend.
Sorry the pictures are so large and take forever to load, I'm not used to using other peoples computers and softwares.

Yes, see those pictures in the background on the walls? Those are made out of corn cobs.

Here is the cross stitch I was working on for my mom. Since she has it now I can finally post it.

Blake feeding a baby calf on the farm.

Blake wanted to bring one of the baby pigs home with him. Do you think they would let that through customs?

My mom did this quilt for Blake for his birthday. It was really a surprise for him because the stripes that are on the border are the same material that I made his curtains out of. He still can't figure out how Grammy got that material.
