Bath

Tuesday we went to Bath. This is where the Roman Bath's are. We had a nice tour. It took nearly the whole day and it was about a three hour drive. We learned a lot of history of the time when the Roman's were here and how they came to rule and then lost that rule. The Bath's still have it's natural hot spring. It is said that the water had healing powers. They do let you taste the water and you can tell it has several minerals in it. If you want to read more you can see this website. http://www.romanbaths.co.uk/

We also stopped to see the Bath Abby and Stonehenge on the way home. We were too late to do the tour of Stonehenge but we did get pictures from the road. We also got to watch them make fudge like they did 200 years ago. It tasted yummy. Fun fact about England...In order to be considered a city you have to have a Cathedral. So, St. Albans, which is much smaller than Luton, gets to be a city and Luton doesn't.

As for the weather....It's been cold. Usually 4-6 C with wind that gets ya. So far (knock on wood) it hasn't rained on us, only at night and when we were in the car. Let's hope that we keep having the 'good' weather. At the end of this long day, we were able to meet up with some Aussie friends, Sam and Dan, at a Greek restaurant in Southampton. It was a long day but worth it.

We drove by this. It's called the Royal Crescent and it's really just a building in a C shape, but cool anyway.

Bath Abby - well I can't remember if it's an Abby or a Cathedral, but it was really pretty.

Sophie, all warn out....again. Over all she's doing very well and we only had one crying fit in the car.

Inside the Abby

King's Fountain - water from the Bath flows here.

Hot Spring original area. No one was allowed to swim here as it was sacred.
