Nothing much to report for last week. I spent most of it cleaning the house and doing paperwork for Sophie's American citizenship. I know exciting. Kaye and Gillian came up on Wednesday and we got some quilting done. While my mom was here, she started some wall hangings for me. We have one hung up, one will be hung up tomorrow and I should be done with the third by the end of the week. I should be able to get pictures later on.
This weekend Michael and I were able to go out for the first time. Kaye came up to babysit, accompanied by her sister and our cousin Briony (but they left after dinner). She seemed to think it went well. Sophie does like to snack and cuddle between 7-9 and we always worry she's not going to sleep well, but she hasn't let us down yet. Last night we got home about 10:30. I was able to go to bed about 11. Sophie slept from 9:30 - 2:45! That was the best sleep yet. And since it was Michael's shift at 3am, I got to sleep until 6am! She treated us so well.
So Michael took me out for my birthday. We were accompanied by our friends Luke and Mel, and Cherie. We went downtown to a little Italian restaurant. We were late making reservations so the only place they had open was on the footpath (sidewalk). There was a festival going on so we thought it would be nice cause we could enjoy the music. We didn't know we were 10 ft from the stage! It was so loud. I didn't know any of the songs or artists either.
After an hour we went down to the coffee shop were we could talk better. After that we went to a little bar and sat out on the patio where it was really nice weather. We decided that since I didn't get to celebrate my 30th birthday, that I was turning 30 on Sat and then 31 on Wednesday which is my real birthday. I did have one drink with dinner, aren't I wild and crazy.
Next week will probably be just as boring. I am spending Monday and Tuesday in appointments. Wednesday Aunt Jill, cousin Briony, Grandpa and Grandma are coming up to celebrate my birthday. So hopefully on Thursday and Friday I can rest. I'll try to get some pictures of my quilting projects and our birth announcement should be done by Wednesday. Remember to get me your address if you want one.
Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday dear Amber, Happy Birthday to You!
