Settling in

Well last week wasn't exciting, but we did get a lot accomplished. On Monday I got our Bridging Visa's put into our passports and we got a our medicare cards. On Tuesday I spent about 4 hours putting together Sophie's US birth/passport/SSN applications and supporting documentation. We are going to do that interview when we are down in Melbourne the first week in Oct. Wednesday was my birthday. Kaye, David, Jill, Briony and Janet all came up to see me. It was a great dinner and nice to see everyone. Thursday I spent getting a bunch of health insurance claims ready and paid bills. I know this is all so exciting but..... it all needs to get done huh. Friday I just mainly rested and did errands. Sat more of the same.

It's starting to get really hot here now. It was up to 30 degree's on Sat. We went on an 1.5 hour walk which probably wasn't that bright but we survived to tell about it. I was worried because I was nearly dying of heat and it isn't even summer yet, but they assured me that there weren't too many days hotter than 30 degrees. It just gets more humid! Oh great. It was at 60% I think on Sat. Not nice. You feel like all your clothes are wet. And it's not nice sleeping in wet sheets. It does cool down here in the evening though, just a little, enough to be bareable.

Sunday Michael took Blake to Speed on Tweed. It's a car thing. He had fun but I'm not sure what all they did but look at the cars. We had a nice italian theme lunch with the neighbors and had restful afternoon. It's been thunderstorming here and those are fun to watch. I got all the wall hangings done except the one we are hand stitching. See the pictures below.

This one is going to go on the cot (crib) for Sophie, in the nursery.

This one goes on the wall in the Nursery.

Ain't this just the cutest? ! We had an extra square so I made a pillow.

This picture is sideways but it goes in the back hallway.

And this one goes in the main bathroom.

Thanks to my mom for getting all of these started for me and showing me how to finish them. They look really nice and saved us lots of money on wall pictures. (I like them better than pictures too.)
