Not quite there yet.

Well, we finally have a tiny bit of news to update you on.

Visa:
My fingerprints/background check finally came back. That means next Monday we can do the actual application. As soon as that goes in, we don't have to worry about being deported. They have this thing called a Bridging Visa that we can get to use between the time when my visitor Visa expires and my Spouse Visa comes in. That allows Blake to still go to school and for me to stay here, but we have to wait for the real thing to start getting school free, bus passes free, medicare, etc.

Baby:
I am now seeing the doctor every week. Today being 37 weeks and 4 days. So far so good for a normal vaginal birth. Ankles aren't too swollen. I did sprain my ankle, bruised my ribs and have a tendon acting up in my left wrist, but I can't blame those on the baby, just clumsiness. I am still not sleeping well. I thought that was the baby till we stayed the weekend with Kaye and David. I slept much better on their bed then our futon. I can't wait till our stuff gets here!

Household goods:
Our stuff from the boat will get here next Wednesday, Thursday at the latest so only a week and a little bit left. We only have three more things of large furniture to buy to complete our house. My Mom is coming next Monday so she gets to help with all the unpacking! But she doesn't know that yet. We dug up lots of pretty plants from Kaye so our house has some nice foliage and decoration now. All things are finally coming together. Of course for me I wish it was all done this week but, what can you do?

Activities:
This weekend we went to the farm to help lay the base concrete for the new shed. Once the shed is finished we get to buy 4 chooks (chickens) so we can have eggs. I did tell you that a dozen good eggs here are $6 right? Michael also put a tow bar on the car so now I can pick up furniture without borrowing the Ute from David. Blake is still doing well at school. This week we (he and I) get to go to a snake program to learn all about which snakes to stay away from! (all of them????)

We go to the farm nearly every weekend. The neighbors come over and we have started having theme lunches. In America we would call it a potluck but they don't really have a name for it here. Last week we each brought an Indian dish. It was divine. We are playing each weekend by ear now to see if the baby comes, but hopefully we will get to do it again next weekend. Probably Italian or Mexican or something I haven't even thought of yet. I so look forward to those times. Seeing Janet, Gillian and her family and Blake's friend's from across the way, really make me feel like I belong here and am getting quite a large support base.

Future plans:
Well this week we are getting the last of our furniture (I hope) and preparing the house as best we can for my Mom. Cleaning, Organizing and rearranging, my Fav! Don't worry, I make poor Micheal do most of it, I just direct. Since our stuff won't be here, we can spend one more relaxing weekend at the farm too.

Pouring the Concrete

My first curtain that I made from that free material for Blake's room.

The following pictures are of Jackaroo (Janet's dog) and Rocky. When Rocky goes to the farm he has three friends. Panda, who is a grandmother type. She loves to play but tires quickly. Digger (Gillian's dog) and Jackaroo. After they all got over the shock of seeing such a little dog and deciding they couldn't eat it, they all seem to love playing with Rocky. Of course when he comes home we have to bath him to get all the dog slobber out of his hair, and he has to sleep for two days to recover. It is quite fun watching them.
