Friday the 20th we went to see the Diabetes Educator and Dietician. I got a finger pricker thingy and learned all the good stuff I am now banned to eat. It was quite fun! NOT. It has taken me a few days to adjust but by the end of my first week I should be ok and be able to handle everything without insulin. Well, here’s hoping anyway. After that we went shopping for a few items and then starting looking at cars. All these cute little economic cars around and Michael is going to get me a plain boring family car. *sigh*. Oh well, not much you can do when you have two children and are on a budget.
Sat the 20th we went up to Brisbane again to put in an application for that house we liked, just to find out she rented it out yesterday. We have found since then that it’s normal for a rental to go in less than a week. We will have to be fast moving the next time we find one we like. We drove around and looked at the outside of several others and did find a few that we called to get showings of. We went to 3 open houses and one was ok, but nothing that said, yes, this is for us.
Sunday the 21st was a rest day. We took a long walk and Blake tried out his new bike. It has gears but we aren’t teaching him to use them yet. The bike is a little big so he’s learning that and also all about front breaks. We thought that was enough. Then the neighbour kids came over and we all went to the beach. We collected sea shells and had a picnic. The weather here is just perfect for a Colorado summer….. But it’s WINTER still. That concerns me. Most of the houses we are looking into has air conditioner but people rarely use it, to save energy. None of the houses have central air like we are used to. I just hope we get one with a unit in our bedroom. If I can sleep when it’s nice and cool, I’ll deal with being hot during the day. Hot and tired just don’t go together.
Michael starts his job tomorrow. I consider that the start of phase two. When he’s mostly busy and I will have nothing to do but housework and home schooling. I think I may go crazy. Hopefully we will find a house soon and our stuff will get here shortly so I’ll have moving and organizing to keep me busy. I am also very excited to start looking for a dog. I really miss the dog I had when I was pregnant with Blake. They are such a comfort, specially little ones that will cuddle with you and make you feel all better.
Starting Tuesday I will be working from 5am - 10am so that will help. I hope our DSL modem comes in on Monday or IM will probably be all I can do for a bit. I do have pictures of the farm, the beach, etc to load as soon as we get it. Well that’s about all. Sorry it’s not as exciting as it used to be. In the next two weeks if it doesn’t get more exciting (finding a house, car, dog…etc) then we are all in trouble cause I’ll go crazy.
Miss you all,
The McNaught's
