WE can't believe it, but at 5 years old, Sophie is now a school girl! She had her first day of Kinder on Wednesday the 21st (first year of school)! She was very excited. I dropped her at school, and we walked to her classroom together. She was so eager, she pulled me the whole way. However, when we reached the doorway of her classroom (which we had visited on Monday at orientation), we hit an invisible force field and she wouldn't go into the room! Eventually after nearly pulling the door frame off the wall, we got her in and sat her down… and I gave a quick hug and kiss, and promptly left. Those were the only tears that day, and apparently she must have really enjoyed school. In her words, it was “Hard work but fun”. Lunch is provided at schools here – and today she had a chicken nugget sandwich with ranch dressing, jello, grapes and some milk. Here are some photos of the occasion…

Bye dad, we're off. |
I dropped here there again on Friday, and it was amazing the transformation since Wednesday. She escorted me in like she owned the place, waved to friends as she was going down the hallways, and hugged me byebye in the classroom. She now catches the bus 'home', back to daycare, all on her own - and this week she will catch the bus TO school from daycare as well! We are so proud of her, and she has adapted to kindergarten really well so far.
