Our 2nd weekend here was very busy and very social. It started with a Regional Track meet on Friday night. We watched our cousin Mitch run a relay. The kids were so funny. We learned when to tell when the gun was going off so we could cover our ears in time and we learned how to cheer. Unfortunately Thomas only started cheering for Mitch after he got all done running, but it was still cute. We just pretended everyone on his team was named Mitch. We were able to see a few of the Aunts and Uncles that night. The first time we said 'this is your uncle'... and 'this is your aunt' they were excited, but by the time we got through a few names they started looking at us skeptically.
Jeremiah and Amber showed up Friday night after the kids were in bed, so we waited until Sat morning to open Christmas presents. Boy was that fun. Thomas got the hang of unwrapping presents and even tried to unwrap Michael's for him. We made him wait and do it over skype that evening but it was cute. They got clothes and legos from Grammy. Thomas got a train set and Sophie got a baking kit (playdough as she says on the video), and Blake got a remote control helicopter from Amber and Jeremiah. I couldn't resist getting them something myself so they got remote control cars all around. That kept them busy for the rest of the morning.
Then off to another race at the track (in door of course) and meeting more Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Both kids had a little snooze in the car which made for happy kids. I didn't get any photos as I was busy hoping the kids didn't fall off the bleachers, but I'm sure I can request some from Aunt Julie - hint, hint if you are reading. The kids stopped being amazed that everyone they met was related to them. Which is good because our next stop was my Great Aunt Dorothy's 80th birthday. Where we met 35 relatives :).
On Sunday we were so tired all we did was see Jeremiah and Amber off to Denver, played with our new toys, and rested.
