Thomas wanted to help Blake open his gifts.
For some reason when we print the blog for my Nan's, the first picture never prints out. So I'm going to try different formats so see if we can get it to work. Test number one, leave the first photo right where it uploads instead of moving it.
Blake's birthday weekend was jam packed with fun. On Sat we woke bright and early and hopped on the train to go down town to Roma Street Parklands. Its a nice area with lots of water features and walking paths. They were having their 10th birthday party as well so there were extra activities set up for children. Sophie was too scared to do the jumping castles. We did get to pet some goats. After that we went for a nice walk in the gardens and had lunch at the playground. Then it was off for another walk to the Brisbane Arts Theater.
We watched the BFG. For those of you who haven't read the book - especially if you are between the ages of 6-15, you should really read it. It's quite funny. Blake enjoyed it and Sophie even paid attention for most of it! Thomas was supposed to be sleeping but didn't, so he was out in the court yard playing. To finish the day we had fish and chips down in South Bank and then caught the train back home.
Sunday we went down to the farm to celebrate with friends and family down there. The turn out was very large. Kaye, David, Nanna, Pa, Andy, Lyn, Judy, Al, Michael, Gillian, Montana, Lincoln, Janet, and of course us! With the dogs included it made for great fun. Kaye set up the bad mitten set and the kids (and most adults) had a blast.
Here are two videos that didn't make it to the last blog.
Very full veranda:)
Blake opening his presents.
We ended up with 3 pies and a chia cake. It was yummy!
Bad Mitten - how is it that when we set up a game for the children, they end up sitting on the blanket to watch us?
No photos were allowed inside.
Can you find Blake in this photo?
Sophie is still scared to get down, but Thomas doesn't seem to mind.
