Well, since it took us two weeks to get internet, we are all moved in and settled. All we have left are little things, like hanging photo's on the wall and planting the veggie garden. The children seem to really enjoy the new house. Sophie loves her bedroom and Thomas sleeps m uch better without her in his. Blake doesn't seem to mind the smallest room as he doesn't have to give up his room when guests come anymore.
Blake has started his new school and already has a girlfriend! She lives around the corner. It was a very funny day when he met her. He came home saying he was so glad we moved and that this place is just so much better than the old place and that he was so happy. She lives around the corner so he can go see her a few times and they even walked to school together once. I think her name is Ebony, but I haven't met her yet. He keeps getting into trouble on the days she is to come over. Too much excitement I guess.
Thomas is becoming very independent. He goes outside by himself and quite enjoys it. He's standing up by himself now and walking along things but you can see him thinking about taking a step and then decides to drop down and crawl. He's quite the eater still. In fact he gets down right demanding and unbearable when he's hungry. I guess he gets that from me and my dad.. Thankfully I always carry snacks. He makes these little ummm, ummm noises when he eats, like he's eating the best food in the world, and it's really cute.
Sophie is learning slowly to go do her own thing when I need her too, and then rewarded with extra special attention when I get done. It's been really nice for when I put Thomas down for his naps. She's really into music and loves her little CD player we got her. She is also starting to get a longer attention span so I can let her watch Blue's Clues for 20 minutes while I have a shower by myself. I don't think you appreciate a shower alone until you don't get one for a few months.
Michael is really enjoying the new house as well. Even though we were still cleaning and unpacking last weekend, he felt very much more relaxed then at the other house. I tried to tell him that the other house would have been more relaxed now that all his building projects where over, but he seems to think that he would have just found more stuff to do.
I am enjoying having my own bathroom, a larger dining room, and an office. We still don't have a computer desk because we didn't have internet for me to get on ebay, but all the books and papers and stuff are still set aside so the children don't get into them. You don't notice how crowded you were until you move into a house nearly twice as big as your old one and the only new thing you have to buy is a computer desk.
This week I'm just searching for swimming pools/lessons, play groups, library story times, etc. The kids have been doing great just staying home with me, but I could tell the newness was starting to wear off last Friday so I need to find things to get them out of the house. Its too bad the rain went away and its so hot you melt when you go outside. We do have A/C and at least now the house is big enough we can play inside. I'll try to get more photos of the place for my next post.
