Whew! Hopefully our house hunting is nearly at an end. Last Friday Michael took off work to go with me while Kaye and David looked after the kids. We looked at about 10 houses and only sort of liked one. We put in an application on it, but there were also 3 other people who did as well so we kept looking just in case. On Sat we looked at more neighborhoods, just to make sure that the ones we have chosen were still the best for us. On Monday and Tuesday I took the children out alone and spent all day looking at more houses, stopping to play at parks and shopping centers and found a few more.
By Tuesday evening we had choices 1-5 and applied for 1-3. On Wednesday we heard back from our choice 3 (the first one we applied for) and decided to tell them no, hoping that we would get our 1 and 2. Michael hadn't seen those two with me so he drove around yesterday to look at the neighborhoods and yards. We decided to switch our 1 and 2 around, but then heard back from our now number 2 and they wouldn't wait for us to hear from number 1 as they had more applicants that were ready to go. So we trusted and said no to them as well.
So now, hoping that we get word back from our option 1 and they agree to let us move in two days! The house is empty so if we are chosen and approved, we should be able to do it. If not, we have our number 4 and 5 to apply for and also 3 more houses that just came up that we can go see. That means we won't move this weekend, but next week and Michael will have to take off work. So here's hoping for option number 1!
I'll leave you with some odd photos and we should have some final information for the next post.
Thomas with his blanket and book. I think he's telling us he's ready for bed.
