Recovering

The sickness has finally seen the door and has one foot out. Thomas has a little bit of a cough left, but the rest of us have recovered. It feels so good to have a healthy family again. Sophie has stopped being needy and is playing with all her birthday toys again so I can actually get things done! I've been helping Michael get the yard all cleaned up. Monday and Tuesday I loaded the trailer up with clay, rocks, and debris so he could dump it at the tip.

Last weekend we got the final touch done to prepare the veranda for pavers. Michael leveled the ground by removing excess dirt, then packed it all down with a handy machine that he loved to use, and topped it with crusher dust. It's all ready. This week Michael has just been tidying up (pressure washing) and collecting the final tid bits (sand) and laying the guide lines so this weekend we can lay the pavers. Ah, it will feel so good. They have been sitting next to the house since May at least and where there is a flat surface, it collects things. It's been such a mess. Kaye and David are coming up to help us with this momentous occasion.

This weekend is also father's day here in Australia (why they have mother's day the same as the US but father's day in a different month is beyond me), but we are going to take our break and holiday next weekend at the farm as well as celebrate my birthday. The kids have been doing great. Blake is still at basketball. His term 3 at school is winding up, it ends on the 17th. Sophie is back at play group and day care. She is also well on her way to being potty trained. We have been seriously working on it for 3 weeks and just had our first whole afternoon with no accidents. Thomas is growing again. He's almost got a routine down, though he changes it slightly each day to see if I'm paying attention.

Thomas reading a book. Not really. He was laying there so nice with such good head control that I put a book in front of him for a silly picture. But it's still cute!

My new vines to cover the fence. (The first flowers were recently deemed weeds so we had to take them out.) I think they are Lavender? They smell great. They were my mother's day gift from Sophie and Blake (Kaye helped).

Sophie likes to cover up Thomas with Blankets. She even shares her own.
