Well I made it through the week with Michael gone! He went down to Sydney for work and was gone from Sunday night till Thursday evening. It was a challenge but I made it. Wednesday would have been really hard but Kaye came up and helped with Sophie while I took Blake to baseball. I even completed my last curtain (at least until the extension is done).
Halloween in Australia is just not the same. Though I think it will be in a few years. Last year a few kids were out and we weren't prepared so this year we made a bigger deal about it and only got about 4 kids show up. The difference I think is that this neighborhood is older than the other one with older families. I think the kids are bringing it in. This year the stores stocked a lot more stuff and the older kids were buying stuff for parties. Also a lot of the people at home got caught unprepared and dug up stuff out of their cupboards so I think next year they will be ready. Only about one in every 5 houses participate now, but that should grow.
