Travelling to the UK

We finally made it!  We left my mom's house at 8am on Thursday morning.  The ride there was fine, though cold, we had clear roads.  We got there early but wasn't able to check in till nearly 11:00.  The trip to Denver was uneventful as was the trip to Chicago.  We were due to switch planes there.  The plane we switched to had frozen pipes, so after loading at 8:30pm, they had us get off again at 10:00pm, then they unfroze the pipes, let us back on at 11:00pm and then found that some of the pipes had broken.  So we got back off.  They got us to a hotel and we were in bed at 2am.  We woke back up at around 11am and had lunch and then back to the airport and on the plane at 4pm.

Sophie did pretty well during all this.  She slept for over half the trip to London, though she did wake in the middle to play so between that and the serving of food at the beginning and end, I didn't get much sleep, but that seems to be the norm around here.  We arrived in London at went off to get the rental car.  We got a Zafira, which will seat 7, but we had so much luggage that Michael, and barely Blake fit so My mom, Sophie and I climbed on the bus at 9:50 and arrived at Leah and Jon's at nearly noon.  The rest of the day we just had Christmas and unpacked.  We got to bed fairly early, though Sophie was up and ready to play just as we were ready to go to bed.  My mom took her and played with her so Michael and I were able to get some sleep.

Walking to the horse stables of the royal horse that guard Buckingham Palace.

The palace, and the flag at the top means the Queen was actually there!

The walk through the trees/park to the palace.  It would have been really pretty if it wasn't winter.
