Hello there. We are finally home. I will update you all on everything in the next post, probably tomorrow or the next day. In the mean time, here is another post that I wrote in the hospital that was supposed to be posted some days ago.
As for me, I am doing well. They transported me from Tweed to Brisbane on Monday so I could be close to Sophie. I have been recovering really well. I am walking around and am self sufficient already. They may even make me go home on Friday. Sophie won’t be able to come home until Monday after her MR (MRI in America) when they test for brain damage. I still have a drain in for my wound and have to take antibiotics. They were so rushed doing the c-section so they didn’t even take time to do a proper washing and were worried about infection. It seems to be doing well.
I spend most of my days reading and watching the Olympics. It’s a bit different being over here as I don’t get to see any of the interviews on the American’s. I did get to see the Women’s Gymnastics take the Silver, and Michael Phelps get two of the three golds I think he now has. (Though by the time this gets posted I’m sure he’ll have more.) They air mostly what Australia is good at. I see field hockey, water polo, diving, swimming, horse jumping, rowing and a little gymnastics.
I have many visitors every day and am very blessed to have such a support base here so far from home. Blake has been doing well. He had Monday and Wednesday off school and is enjoying some Grammy and Dad time. It is great having my Mom here though all she’s seen of Australia is the airport and hospitals. Hopefully we will have time to remedy that soon.
Our stuff from the boat arrived Tuesday at 8am and Michael and my Mom are having fun setting up the nursery. Michael is enjoying sleeping in my sweet bed without me and makes sure to let me know how comfy it is. My Mom is using my big body pillow and has renamed it Marvin. (It has been named Fred since before Blake was born.) Rocky is doing well and likes to hear my voice on the phone. He’s growing so big. He’s probably over 2 kilos now!
Blake having fun in the packing material.
