Dad's Visit home and Blake's Swim meet

May 2nd:

Blake had the day off school, so we decided to do a few fun things. We were going to go to the zoo to see live animals - after the disappointing stuffed animals at the museum - but it snowed on Thursday and was cold and windy. We ended up at the Aquarium. Last time I loved the aquarium but this time there were about 4-5 field trips and it was so crowded we didn't get any pictures and we were pushed through the whole thing in an hour. Sort of disappointing.

May 3rd:
Early in the morning while Blake was still sleeping I went to the airport and picked up Michael to surprise him. He's a smart little one and had us all figured out, but it was still a nice treat to have Dad home for a weekend. We started by going to brunch with my swim team to say good-bye to all of them. Every weekend from now till we leave is all booked up so I won't be able to swim with them again. Then we went to a baby shower for one of our friends. I have figured out if you want lots of presents you need to be a teacher or a coach of some kind and your parties are huge! Then Michael was nice enough to take me shopping! whoot whoot. But.... it's very discouraging to try on clothes when you are twice your normal size! Michael loved it. I did find a really nice sweater that I try to wear now even if it’s not cold out.

May 4th:
Blake had his second swim meet on Sunday. He started out well. He really needs to work on his diving but his swimming has improved so much! He started by cutting 5 seconds off his 25 free (24:23). Then he got a little distracted by friends. The first swim meet he didn’t have any friends so this was new. He did ok on his 25 back stroke but on his breast stroke he forgot what he was doing and started out with free! Oops. We had an hour break and went to eat lunch and play on the play ground and when he came back he was very focused. He swam his 50 free and cut off 10 seconds! (52:99). His first 25 was faster than his first race that day and he did two in a row. We were so proud. I think he came away with 2 6th’s and a 4th place. Michael has posted a video on his website. The link is below. You will also find many pictures of our family on there so take your time and look around.

Oh, check out the family photo album too...
